Solstice

I want to dance

naked

under the moon

& feel the January air

dimple my skin

& stiffen my spirit

giving it an edge to mold to

the dance making my breath

come in gasps

the wind

caress me like lovers do

I shall arch my back

and others may whisper

of the provocative way of my hips

but I shall only hear the music

of the wind in my ears

carrying my soul into the sky

to dance among the celestial beings,

the gods & goddesses long forgotten

but come out to play this solstice

under the moon.

my moon.

And still dancing,

I shall call out to my lover

& he shall find me among the stars
